What it does
Abstract Limit lets journal editors enforce minimum and maximum word counts for article abstracts. Authors see a live word counter directly under the abstract editor, and submissions are blocked if the abstract doesn’t meet the configured limits.
How it works
After enabling the plugin, a journal manager sets the desired min and max word counts in the plugin settings. From that point:
- Authors see a word counter under the abstract field that updates in real time
- The counter turns red when the limit is exceeded
- Server-side validation blocks the submission if the abstract is too short or too long
